Fotbal

Fotbal, known as football in most countries and soccer in the United States and Canada, refers to a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Players primarily use their feet to move the ball, although they can also use other body parts except for their arms and hands, with the exception of goalkeepers.

Fotbal is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). It is one of the most popular and widely viewed sports globally, with a rich history and various professional leagues, tournaments, and international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup. The sport emphasizes skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting, as well as teamwork and strategy. The term „fotbal“ is derived from the English word „football“ and is used in various languages, particularly those of European origin, to refer to the sport.
