La Liga

La Liga, officially known as the Primera División, is the top professional football (soccer) division in Spain. It is one of the most prestigious leagues in the world and features a system of promotion and relegation with the Segunda División. Established in 1929, La Liga is governed by the Royal Spanish Football Federation and consists of 20 teams, with each season typically running from August to May. The league operates on a round-robin format, where each team plays the other teams twice, once at their home stadium and once away, accumulating points based on match results. Teams earn three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. La Liga is known for its competitive nature and has produced many of the world’s best football clubs and players.
